Mobile Acceleration Week (MAW) is about accelerating the development of mobile applications on Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 platform. The event offers on-site technical and business assistance from Microsoft, as well as third-party support from their partners. This week MAW stopped in New York City, where 12 startups can access on-site support.
Microsoft hatches high potential startups to built apps on Windows phone. Microsoft gives each startup 60 days to push the app to market. They offer dedicated technical support, assisted code, workshops etc.
Let’s see what apps we will find:
GateGuru
It fits for those who love traveling. It’s already up and running on iOS and Android, but in December it’ll launch on Windows with a host of new features that will make it more of a service than an app. New feature include maps, security wait times, itinerary management, and location-based coupons, making it the most comprehensive airport application available.
Taap.it
It provides shopping experience. The app lets users check in to items rather than places, at which point users can purchase the item and rate it. It combine the best of online and offline shopping. It is dead easy to use, rich in local offerings, and available on both mobile and the web.
Soundtracker
With Soundtracker, you may easily find and play the music your friends are listening to. You can make comments on your friends’ stations, chat, and check their latest music. Find the artists popular in the city.
Flud
Flud launched on IOS platform and won design award in 2010. And now Microsoft built a new Flud. This app allows users to find and share news faster and easier. You can see what other people are reading in a dedicated feed, and check out user profiles, too. Also can tap into what news is trending.
There are also other apps such as MOS, share with 911 (share audio, videos, photos), Bonds, Aviary (photo editing), media friends, snap, Xpedium, Tomato lighting.
