1. Before getting started on the restoration of Dell computer, the first thing you need to do is to back up all data and files stored in the computer. You can backup the data into various places, for example, move your important data that you want to retain into “My Documents” folder and then burn the folder into a CD or DVD, or transfer the data to another prepared computer, or place the data to an external hard drive. HOW TO RESTORE DELL COMPUTER TO ORIGINAL FACTORY INSTALLATION

Step 1. Boot the Dell computer. When you see the splash screen during the Windows startup, press <Ctrl>, keep the pressing and press <F11>, and then release them simultaneously.

Step 2. When you see the window “Dell PC Restore”, look for “Restore” and click on it. Then press <Tab> to highlight “Restore”, then press <Enter>. A window with the message warning you about the probability of data loss will pop up. When this happens, click “Confirm” or press <Tab> on keyboard to highlight “Confirm” and press <Enter>.

Step 3. Then the “Progress” window will appear, which indicates the restoration process has already started. Please wait about 10 minutes. When the message “The system recovery process was successful” appears, it means the restoration process is done.

Step 4. Click “Finish” or press <Tab>  to highlight “Finish” and press <Enter> to restart. Your Dell computer will be restored to its factory settings.
